Celebrating 10 Years of Tendercare Disability Services

Reaching a 10-year milestone is an important occasion for Tendercare Disability Services. This celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the organisation's journey and recognise the value of community connections, inclusion, and participation.

The event will bring together participants, families, community members, and local organisations to celebrate the importance of creating welcoming environments where people feel respected, supported, and included.

It is also an opportunity to showcase the talents, abilities, and contributions of people with disabilities and recognise the role of community participation in promoting a sense of belonging.

Promoting Multicultural Community Connections

Queensland is home to people from many cultural and faith backgrounds. Building meaningful connections across these communities can help strengthen understanding, encourage collaboration, and create opportunities for everyone to participate.

The event will introduce and promote the Multicultural Community Network Inc. as a platform for strengthening multicultural and multifaith voices and supporting community-led initiatives.

Through shared activities, conversations, and cultural participation, the celebration aims to encourage stronger relationships between individuals, community groups, and service organisations.

Recognising Mental Health Month

Mental health and emotional wellbeing are important parts of a healthy community. Raising awareness and encouraging open conversations can help people better understand mental health and recognise the value of connection and support.

As part of the celebration, Dr Omer Shareef will present a reflection on Mental Health Month. This session will provide an opportunity for attendees to consider the importance of mental wellbeing and the role communities can play in fostering supportive environments.

The event will also bring together community, mental health, and disability organisations, helping attendees discover local connections and opportunities for engagement.

Enjoy Music, Performances and Community Activities

The celebration will feature a variety of activities designed to bring people together in a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.

Speeches and Presentations

Attendees can hear speeches and reflections highlighting community wellbeing, inclusion, and the importance of supporting diverse voices.

Talent Displays and Demonstrations

Tendercare participants will have the opportunity to showcase their talents and group activities, celebrating their creativity, skills, and participation.

Collaborative Drumming

A collaborative drumming activity with Dylan from Headspace Queensland and TSV Multicultural Strum & Giggle will encourage participants to connect through rhythm, music, and shared experiences.

Music and Performances

Music talent demonstrations and performances will add to the celebratory atmosphere and highlight the role of creative activities in bringing communities together.

Group Exercise with Music

Participants can enjoy group exercise accompanied by music, promoting movement, social interaction, and a positive approach to wellbeing.

Community Stalls and Refreshments

Stallholders from community, mental health, and disability organisations will be part of the event, providing opportunities to learn about local services and connect with support networks.

Guests can also enjoy door prizes, snacks, and refreshments throughout the celebration.

Building a More Inclusive Community

Community wellbeing grows when people have opportunities to connect, participate, and feel that they belong. Events like this help create spaces where people from different backgrounds can share experiences, discover local services, celebrate individual abilities, and build meaningful relationships.

For people with disabilities, inclusive community activities can provide valuable opportunities for social participation, self-expression, and connection. For multicultural communities, these gatherings can encourage cultural understanding and strengthen relationships across different groups.

By bringing together disability services, educational institutions, multicultural networks, mental health organisations, and community members, this celebration aims to support a shared vision of a healthier, happier, and more inclusive Queensland.
